Confined in winter
Last night’s disturbance is moving away southeast. High 1040 hpa, Azores, extending a ridge 1024 hpa reaching Switzerland today. Extended low area over the Balkans. Persistent northerly stream in‑between, fairly strong, allowing for sunny spells to spreading out in the afternoon. Low coming in over the Norwegian Sea on Wednesday, then deepening considerably. Linked disturbance increasing cloudiness while driving slightly milder air towards the Alps at first, actually shortly ahead of the cold front which is expected to triggering fairly heavy precipitation during the night and on Thursday. Further outlook shows frequent snowfall, even at low altitude, until the week‑end, yet of changeable intensity.
