High 1031 hpa over Lithuania this morning, linked to a hot air mass high up, drifting somewhat southeast and starting up to weakening by Saturday. Scorching heat rules the Alps and highs, more than ten degrees above seasonal averages, are getting close to the 37.2°C record of July 1983. Some fairly high cloud crossing over in the morning possibly triggering a light shower; some cumulus cloud growing over the massifs later. Yet, the afternoon thunderstorm risk will probably remain low until the end of the week‑end. It is however advisable to check it more precisely from day to day.
